We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Finance Director to join the team at VitalFluid. In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute the financial strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals. You will be responsible for developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, while optimizing cash flow and overseeing financial performance.
As the Finance Director, you will collaborate closely with the CEO and the management team, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making. You will lead efforts to refine the financial models, control costs, and enhance the reporting processes. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in preparing for investment rounds and managing relationships with investors and stakeholders.

History
VitalFluid was founded in 2014 by Paul Leenders and Polo van Ooij. Paul, a creative entrepreneur with a background in chemistry and Polo, electrical engineer from Eindhoven University, met during their joint research on plasma technology. They recognized the value of plasma technology and its suitability for a variety of sustainable applications and decided to dedicate their professional careers to unlocking its enormous potential. They joined forces, together with Eindhoven University of Technology and VitalFluid was born.
Your profile
- Minimum higher professional education (HBO) level, with a degree in finance. Additional qualifications (WO or RA/RC) are a plus.
- At least 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong financial foundation and understanding of tax, accounting, and financial control.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and expertise in Financial Planning & Control, including cash flow management, budget versus actual analysis, and providing financial insights.
- Experience with Venture Capital is highly preferred: understanding how investors think is crucial.
- Experience with funding processes is a significant advantage.
- Prior experience in a start-up/scale-up environment is an advantage, with a good grasp of the dynamics involved.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
- Available for 32-40 hours per week.
